While a feature is in Building, Iron Octopus works through its work items one at a time and reviews each one. You don’t need to watch, but you can see exactly where things stand at any point.

On your Home page

Under In progress, each feature in Building or Acceptance shows a progress bar and a line such as:
  • 3 of 7 work items done · 1 running · 1 in rework while it’s being built.
  • 11 of 12 acceptance criteria met once it’s in Acceptance.

On the feature page

The feature page shows the same progress in more detail, with each work item and its current state. Open a work item to see what was built and what review found. When every work item is done, the feature moves to Acceptance on its own, and Iron Octopus verifies its acceptance criteria. If your rules turn that off, the feature waits as Ready for acceptance until you click Move to acceptance.

Across your workspace

Work in progress, linked from Home, each project and each feature, and in ⌘K, lists every active work item, with how long each has been in its current state. It leaves out work that hasn’t started, work that’s done, and features that aren’t active.

When something needs you

Most of the time, nothing does. If a work item fails after its automatic retries, or review asks for a person, the feature moves to Needs you on Home. See when work fails or gets stuck and review and rework.
